Szanda Castle is located in the middle of the Cserhát Mountains. It is one of the highest points in the region (529 m above sea level). The route involves a 2.4 km walk with an elevation gain of approx. 200 m.
It was first mentioned in 1301 as "Castellanus de Zonda". After a turbulent period, it was destroyed in 1551.
Today, there are interesting ruins and an extremely beautiful 360-degree panorama!
