About This Specific Location
Located on Ramapo Mountain and sitting at 1,011 feet above sea level, this operational lookout tower detects wildfires and dispatches fire suppression resources as far as New York state. This fire tower is owned by the New Jersey Forest fire Service and is operated during periods of enhanced fire weather. Update 7/22/2019 regarding No Trespassing sign: Geocacher's are authorized to access the firetower area as this is State property.
