Welcome to Nevern - a beautiful, historic village of north Pembrokeshire. With its own 12th century motte & bailey castle and Norman church containing the famous pilgrim's cross and bleeding yew, there's plenty to explore.
This cache is hidden along a bridleway that connects the village of Nevern to Felindre. The path takes you along the fields fringing the winding banks of the river Nevern with plenty of flora and fauna to take in along the way.
If starting from Nevern, the cache is hidden by a small stream in the first few hundred metres along the bridleway. After passing the cottages on your right, you follow the bridleway thirty metres down a hill to a stream. The stream has a stone bridge to the left and a shallow-water ford for horses to the right. The cache itself is a small plastic watertight food box hidden in a slate alcove along the side of the path around the stream. If you reach a wooden gate, you've gone too far.
You can access the cache without taking a single step off the pathway and you do not need to move any objects - sticks, stones or otherwise to uncover it. The cache is not directly visible from the pathway so you may need to poke around to find it. After logging your discovery, please make sure it is securely returned to it's alcove and do not cover it's entrance.
To get to the bridleway, you'll need to park on the roadside somewhere in the village. The bridleway then starts opposite the house overlooking the fields down a small lane that leads to some cottages and it's then a single pathway that leads all the way to Felindre.
The bridleway can get muddy and boggy in winter and wet weather so bring good waterproof footwear if you want to walk all the way to Felindre. However, from Nevern, you do not need to walk through any muddy patches before reaching the cache.
