About This Specific Location
This location serves as the headquarters of New Jersey Forest Fire Service Northern (Division A) area. New Jersey Forest Fire Service (NJFFS) is responsible for all duties concerning protection from wildfire in NJ. Wildfire detection through the use of a network of firetowers, wildfire suppression, controlled burning, and open burning and permitting are a few of the responsibilities carried out through this office. In addition, fire trucks are fabricated and maintained at this location. Aeroflex, NJFFS's northern air attack base, is located just down the road adjacent to New Wawayanda Lake.
