Welcome to the Knox County Park District GeoTrail
Thayer Ridge is located at 7077 Thayer Road, Mount Vernon. While hiking the trails at Thayer Ridge please realize that these trails can be VERY muddy and rutted due to horse traffic (hoof prints) and mountain bike tread wear. It is important that you wear adequate footwear (no open toed shoes) for this Geocache. Boots are often times necessary if there has been accumulated rainfall. This park consists of 70 acres of rolling topography and open space featuring shared bridle and mountain bike trails, vernal pool, pasture and wooded habitats. Even though our parks are open 24 hours, we highly suggest you do not do our caches at night. We hope you enjoy searching for our Park Cache as we enjoy your visit.
