I live in Manitoba but my home province is Saskatchewan. I was born and raised in a little place called Lestock and grew up on a farm north of the town.
Saskatchewan is a province of many surprises. To the North in the Prince Albert area you have forests so thick you can lose you way very quickly. There are however pristine lakes to visit and enjoy in that area. The middle of the province is a combination of flat farm land and rolling hills but you have to get off the major highways to see them. Near where I grew up are the Touchwood Hills which is a beautiful drive if you are on Highway #15.
Highway #16 from Yorkton to Saskatoon is mostly flat farm land alive with waves of crops as they grow and mature throughout the summer and some of most beautiful snow scaps if you are travelling in the winter. You may want to visit Watrous and relax in the saltwater lake and spa.
Don't forget to investigate the area north and south of the #1 Highway. If you stay on the highway you miss Kenosee Lake, Fort Qu'Appelle Lakes and resort area, as well as Last Mountain Lake, The Big Muddy Badlands, the underground tunnels in Moose Jaw or Cypress Hills Provincial Park just to name a few.
Saskatchewan has many scenic places as well as cities, towns and any number of activities to enjoy. I hope you will take the time to visit some of the amazing spots this province has to offer.
