I never had the pleasure of caching with or even meeting Robert from Prince Edward Island (PEI), but Bob was an avid cacher and along with his wife they composed the caching team of ‘Nook and Crannie’, Bob was the ‘Nook’ half. I found out about Bob thru his nephew, who relayed that, before his death, they had managed to become the second most prolific cachers in Canada. A close friend and fellow cacher passed along that Bob would be out the door 24/7 for an FTF despite numerous health issues. The ultimate show of his competitive spirit and intense dedication to geocaching, was logging all his finds for the day before heading to the hospital the day before he died. Sounds like he would have been a very interesting character to meet and cache with. Hats off to Bob and other avid cachers who keep the game going and interesting for the rest of us. Some day, I hope to get out east and do some caching in other parts of Canada, PEI for example and walk in Bob’s footsteps for a day.
