Mr James Blair held the mail contract from Bendemeer to Watsons creek for 40 years.
He only ever had one day off, due to ill health in those 40.
He presented to the Bedemeer post office for for exhibition, a revolver found in a rough gorge on the Eastermans estate, 24 miles from Bendemeer, 30 mile from Manilla and 4 mile from Glen Barra station.
It was a 6 chamber long barrel, muzzle loader with nipple and cap. The words Thunderbolt and 1865 were doted on the barrel.
