I found out recently that my Dad's father worked at the B.C. Cement Company at Tod Inlet from 1918 to 1920 as a cement burner. In 1940 he moved over to the idle cement plant at Bamberton to help recondition the kiln department where he worked as a foreman until the joined the Canadian Scottish in 1940. He completed his working career as the Southern Vanacouve Island District Representative for the Federal Service Commission.
My interest in Tod Inlet began when I moved to the area in the early 1980's. Quite a few derelict buildings, vehicles and assorted debris littered the grounds at that time - making for many interesting walks! This area was originally planned for a housing development but was acquired by the Provincial Government and added to the Gowlland Tod Park system.
Remediation of this area continues with assistance from volunteers, the SeaChange Marine Conservation Society and First Nation Groups.

The last four digits of the North coordinates may be found by adding 50 to the last 4 digits of the bottom phone number.
