Are you looking for something to do to keep the kids occupied during summer? Geocaching might be just the thing for your family!
We are meeting at picnic shelter 1 (next to the playground) at Laura S. Walker State Park. I know it's a weekday, but some families in the area were interested and we didn't have any Saturdays free any time soon.
We will go over the basics of geocaching, including: basic etiquette, logging caches, navigating the available apps, travel bugs, and other topics to help those who are new at geocaching. Picnic Shelter 1 is close to the playground, so the littles can play while we help adults with the technical aspects. We will have a special emphasis on geocaching with children, but geocachers of all ages and skill levels are welcome.
Be sure to bring your geocaching devices (cell phone, handheld GPSr, tablet, etc.).
After the event, we will be available to help you practice your new skills with old (and new) caches in the park.
You will need to purchase a $5 parking pass to enter the park.
