Enjoy a paddle along the Grand River at its lowest point, before it empties into Lake Erie.
We have renewed the “A Grand Paddle” series, focusing on the East side of the river and the side creeks. You will find a good variety of caches from easy PNGs to hides a little more challenging to retrieve.
While placing, we saw a good deal of wildlife including carp, herons, muskrats, otter and countless birds. We also saw a lot of larger boat traffic. Be very careful with this; this is one of main reasons for keeping hides to one area. All hides were placed by canoe, and intended for canoes and kayaks. This is the only way to legally access these hides. Small motor boats could retrieve some, but not all of these. We would NEVER recommend attempting these by ice in the winter due to the constant current of the river.
PLEASE NOTE: the water level was higher than normal when placed, and may add an extra challenge to the hides when it drops.
Be careful and paddle safe. We hope you have as much fun finding them as we did placing them!
