The eleventh in an occasional series of morning get-togethers, which aim to be within a few miles of the River Erewash, the border between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. All geocachers are welcome, for an hour of chat, the sharing of ideas, the exchange of trackables, and anything to do with our hobby.
Things have been a bit rushed recently (those who know me will guess why!), so I haven't had time to hunt out a new venue. Then, to make matters worse, the place I had picked (The Twitchel at Long Eaton) unexpectedly closed down less than two weeks before the event.
So, a rapidly rearranged event, and a return visit to Ilkeston. With it being a town centre it is an ideal location for those without transport to get to, and there are excellent bus links to both Nottingham and Derby.
The venue is the The Observatory public house - it's on Lower Market Place, just down from the church. It's postcode is DE7 5QA 1ED. There are plenty of town centre car parks, so I have not set a parking waypoint. NB: Council car parks are free for one hour, but you must display a ticket, and the cost is quite reasonable if you want to park for two hours. Drinks and hot food are available if required - indeed, there is a full breakfast menu (though no purchase is necessary).
