In Europe, the largest crater lake we are at Lakaniemi, a public beach, cache 64. This cache replaces the former one at the old abandoned Lakaniemi school. The school can be found at N63° 07.309 E023° 48.059
The old school building was built in 1908 and expanded to its present form in the 1930s. The building represents the building influences of the 1920s and 30s and is of local historical significance (the environment says otherwise?). This song by Väinämöinen Lappajärvi was not yet ready for school music lessons.

Euroopan suurin kraatterijärvi ympäri-kierroksella olemme Lakaniemessä, yleisellä uimarannalla, kätköllä 64. Tämä kätkö korvaa aiemman, joka oli vanhassa hylätyssä Lakaniemen koulussa. Koulu löytyy N63° 07.309 E023° 48.059
Vanha koulurakennus rakennettiin v. 1908 ja on laajennettu nykymuotoonsa 1930-luvulla. Rakennus edustaa 1920-30-luvun rakentamisvaikutteita ja on paikallishistoriallisesti merkittävä (ympäristö kertoo muuta?). Tämä Vimpelin Väinämöisen Lappajärvi-laulu ei vielä tuolloin ehtinyt koululaisten musiikintunnille.
Lappajärvi, suuri ja suloinen, aalloillas aurinko palaa,
veden hehkua herkkää, huumaavaa kuun silta sineesi valaa.
Vaiti seison vuorella palvoen, yli Uhrikiven katselen Pyhävuorelta aaltojen yli.
Siinä aukee aavana edessäin kotiseutuni lämmin syli. Lappajärvi, suurta ja suloista suvi-illoin saariisi soutaa, ja lokkien laulaissa luodoilla kotirantaan verkkoja noutaa, ja kuulla, kun keinulla laulu soi, siellä nuoret laulaa ja karkeloi, elää ja talostella ja saunan lauteilta lauantaisen aaltoihin polskutella.
