Geocache Description:


Haddock Woods is an important natural and community resource for the City of Decatur. This green space creates a serene, natural area within the surrounding residential neighborhoods, while providing habitat for many species of birds and owls in the mature tree canopy. The west branch of Shoal Creek runs through Haddock Woods, from South McDonough Street to South Candler Street. https://www.friendsofshoalcreek.org


Trolley Line Trail: Back in the day, trolley cars used to wind their way through Cabbagetown and Kirkwood to Agnes Scott college in Decatur on what was formerly the Atlanta-Decatur trolley line.

NOTE: No need to go digging through the woods looking for this geocache. It is NOT a red/camo box (letterbox) that you may come across in a different spot.

Visit the chickens while you're back here, and after that, check out the Oakhurst Community Garden on the NW corner of S. McDonough and Oakview.
