Who doesn't want to sit around a fire, roast marshmallows & hot dogs, and tell stories?
Note: Food is not being provided. Bring your own dinner and breakfast or coordinate with other geocachers.
Fort Roberdeau is allowing Geocachers the opportunity to tent-camp on-site on July 27th. The site has bathrooms and picnic tables but there are no actual campsites or hookups, but plenty of grassy area for tents. We will have access to electricity at the White Oak Hall building, so if you want to crock-pot, charge phones, etc. that will be supported.
Arrivals specifically for camping should start at 5pm, which is when the Fort officially closes. If you wish to take a tour of the site I recommend arriving an hour early.
Cost? It would be appropriate for us to take up a collection to make a donation to the fort for giving us the use of the site. Also, we're doing an invasive plant removal CITO on Sunday morning...
- BBQ's - are permitted, but must be off the ground.
- Dogs - are allowed on site.
If you are planning log a "Will Attend" and include how many are in your group. If you have any other questions, feel free to email Paul@Schirf.net
If you'd like to bring a camper, please contact me and I'll work on the approval process.
