Oustic. What does that mean, aside from being a name? For me, it is a key suffix. First, there is "acOustics", a highly multidisciplinary area that examines mechanical waves (including sound). Even better is "otoacOustics" (also known as otoacoustic emissions, or OAEs). Go ahead, Google it. How crazy is that!?! That's right, your ear not only responds to sound, but also emits it as well! Only healthy ears do this, and it is basically the most efficient/common means to give a newborn baby a "hearing test". Cool, huh? David Kemp really should get the Nobel Prize for his discovery of OAEs in 1978... In the meantime, the little crossroads of Oustic will suffice for being home to a geocache (along w/ a distantly-related sister cache GC30XFK) paying tribute to such a cool (but not common knowledge) phenomena!
