Pozostałości po ćwiczebnym forcie. Można je znaleźć na granicy dawnego cmentarza wojskowego i poligonu.
Ukryte są w głębokim, sztucznym wąwozie.
Duże łuki, wysoka, solidna ściana, zasypane wejścia prowadzące niegdyś gdzieś pod wzgórze.
Tyle zostało z unikatowej budowli. Ceglane konstrukcje powstały na początku XX w.
Tyle można wywnioskować, przeglądając stare mapy Szczecina.
Powstanie małego fortu miało wówczas sens. Miasto właśnie uwalniało się z ogromnych budowli obronnych otaczających miasto.
Wojsko potrzebowało więc czegoś zastępczego, gdzie nowi rekruci będą mogli ćwiczyć zdobywanie czy też obronę ufortyfikowanego miasta.
Na szkoleniowy charakter budowli wskazywało nagromadzenie na w sumie niewielkim obszarze (fort ma około 80 metrów długości) różnych elementów spotykanych w XIX-wiecznym budownictwie obronnym.
Była fosa, podziemne schrony, ukryte przejścia pomiędzy poszczególnymi fragmentami budowli, umocnienia mające chronić wał przed ostrzałem artyleryjskim.
Całość była w niezłym stanie, dopóki była to część wojskowa. Wraz z oficjalnym przekazaniem poligonu na potrzeby cmentarza rozpoczęła się dewastacja fortu.
Część umocnień została zniwelowana, zasypana ziemią i śmieciami.

Znalazłem to miejsce przypadkowo w 2000 roku, podczas samotnej wędrówki po Cmentarzu, wtedy było znacznie trudniejsze do odnalezienia.
Najprościej dostać się na miejsce od strony północnej.
GPS może mieć problemy w związku z ukształtowaniem terenu.

They are hidden in a deep, artificial gorge.
Big arches, high, solid wall, buried entranceways that once led up to the hill.
Brick structures were created at the beginning of the 20th century - so much can be deduced by browsing the old maps of Szczecin.
The creation of a small fort made sense then. The city was just released from the huge defensive buildings surrounding the city.
The army needed something substitute, where new recruits would be able to practice winning or defending a fortified city.
The training character of the building was indicated by the accumulation of a small area (the fort is about 80 meters long) of various elements found in the nineteenth-century defensive architecture.
There was a moat, underground shelters, hidden passages between individual fragments of the building, fortifications to protect the shaft from artillery fire.
The whole was in good shape as long as it was a military part. With the official transfer of the training ground for the needs of the cemetery, the devastation of the fort began.
Some of the fortifications were leveled, covered with dirt and garbage.
I found this place accidentally in 2000, during a lonely walk through the Cemetery, at that time it was much harder to find.
The easiest way to get to the place is from the north.
GPS may have problems due to the terrain.

except All Saints' Day - the cemetery will be open untill the last person will go out.
