Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates! You do not need to go here but you may begin there if you'd like to see the building.

The posted coordinates is the location of the oldest building on Stolp Island in downtown Aurora: the Stolp Woolen Dye House. Unfortunately, it is no longer in business.

Here is a link with a description of the historic building. You do not need to go here but you may if you wish. https://www.aurora-il.org/602/8-Stolp-Woolen-Mill-Dye-House-Circa-1858

For those interested in exploring the past, here is a link with a slightly more detailed description of the building at the posted coordinates. Again, you do not need to go here but you can if you'd like. http://www.chicagonow.com/dutch-alien-lands-in-us/2015/09/stolp-woolen-mill-dye-house-1858-aurora-illinois/

For those who really like digging into history, this link tells a bit about the man behind the building, Joseph G. Stolp. Once again, you do not need to go here but you may if you'd like. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailyherald.com/amp-article/20120825/news/708259880/

After you locate the cache container and sign the log, take a moment, if you will, to explore the area around GZ and learn a bit about this hidden gem in downtown Aurora.
