We had such a nice walk along this track, accompanied by bird song and a couple of very friendly fantails. We thought we would leave a traditional cache placed near a whopper.
Closest access is via Totaranui Hill Road. Park at Pigeon Saddle carpark, where the inland track starts. Be aware that the road is gravel, windy and narrow in places. Signs advise against towing a caravan over here. Care is needed at all times. Plenty of room to park here though.
