Partendo da Cavallino, si imbocca via Pordelìo, contigua al canale da cui prende il nome, in direzione di Ca’ Savio; lungo il tragitto si notano sulla sinistra una serie di torri che si slanciano dal piatto e uniforme ambiente lagunare. Si tratta di edifici costruiti lungo la fascia litoranea in posizione arretrata rispetto alle batterie poste invece sulla costa. Essendo per la loro altezza piuttosto evidenti, furono camuffate da abitazioni civili realizzandovi dei tetti a falde o accostandovi altri edifici destinati al ricovero di attrezzature e del personale militare. Dalla sommità di queste torri attraverso feritoie da cui sporgevano grandi cannocchiali e telemetri di precisione, si osservavano e inquadravano i bersagli fornendo le relative coordinate alle batterie che aggiustavano i tiri dell’artiglieria. Ciascuna batteria riceveva le coordinate di tiro da tre torri telemetriche opportunatamente distanziate tra loro e, attraverso funzioni trigonometriche, si calcolava la distanza del bersaglio da colpire. La popolazione residenziale del Cavallino chiamava scherzosamente queste torri “Semafori” a causa di grandi dischi colorati occasionalmente posti sulla loro sommità, come sistema di segnalazione visiva. In tutto il Litorale se ne contano diverse, alcune ancora parzialmente abitate, altre ancora trasformate in sedi per attività artigianali.

Starting from Cavallino, take via Pordelìo, adjacent to the canal from which it takes its name, in the direction of Ca ’Savio; along the way you can see on the left a series of towers that rise from the flat and uniform lagoon environment. These are buildings built along the coastal strip in a position set back from the batteries placed on the coast. Being quite evident for their height, they were camouflaged as civil dwellings, creating pitched roofs or joining other buildings for the shelter of equipment and military personnel. From the top of these towers through loopholes from which large telescopes and precision rangefinders jutted, the targets were observed and framed providing the relative coordinates to the batteries that adjusted the artillery shots. Each battery received the shooting coordinates from three telemetric towers appropriately spaced from each other and, through trigonometric functions, the distance of the target to be hit was calculated. The residential population of the Cavallino jokingly called these towers "Traffic Lights" due to large colored disks occasionally placed on their top, as a visual signaling system. In the whole Coast there are several, some still partially inhabited, others still turned into venues for craft activities.

Von Cavallino aus nehmen Sie die Via Pordelìo, die an den Kanal angrenzt, von dem sie ihren Namen hat, in Richtung Ca ’Savio. Auf dem Weg sehen Sie links eine Reihe von Türmen, die sich aus der flachen und einheitlichen Lagunenlandschaft erheben. Dies sind Gebäude, die entlang des Küstenstreifens in einer Position errichtet wurden, die von den an der Küste platzierten Batterien zurückgesetzt wurde. Jede Batterie erhielt die Schießkoordinaten von drei entsprechend beabstandeten Telemetrietürmen und durch trigonometrische Funktionen wurde die Entfernung des zu treffenden Ziels berechnet. Die Wohnbevölkerung des Cavallino nannte diese Türme scherzhaft "Ampeln", da gelegentlich große farbige Scheiben auf ihrem Dach angeordnet waren, als visuelles Signalsystem. In der gesamten Küste gibt es mehrere, einige noch teilweise bewohnt, andere wiederum wurden zu Treffpunkten für handwerkliche Aktivitäten.
