We found ourselves stranded in Quilpie for a few days due to mechanical issues and while wandering the streets we saw that the following week there was a Geocaching seminar for the local's organised by the local tourist info center. They were getting a cacher from Blackall (500kms away) to come and run it. Quilpie is a lovely town and very dependent on the tourist trade, so it makes sense to entice cachers to visit.
As we were stuck here we found the manager of the Information Center and introduced ourselves, asking if they would like us to place a cache with them maintaining it. Naturally they were keen, so a good location was sort. You are looking for a 100ml Sistema hidden at the end of the line.
Make sure you call into the Information Center and introduce yourselves as cachers you will get a warm welcome.
