Geocache Description:

These historic sites predate the Civil War.  Robert Adam's water-powered grits mill operated in the ravine north of Mt. Pleasant and was sold to William Gainer around 1840.  It was torched during a union raid on July 21,1864.  Mt Pleaseant cemetery was donated as an african-american burial ground . The 2 jeep girls stumbled upon this historic site while out searching for caches, this is one reason why we love geocaching, you never know where it will take you or what history you will find there. Happy hunting
