The campsite is the Crooked River Provincial Park, and the name Bear Lake is actually a secondary title for this campground. However, many people focus exclusively on the lake and never explore the trail system that Crooked River has to offer. This cache is hidden on the first loop of the trail system at the first overlook of the Crooked River, before the trail system turns right and follows the ridge above the Crooked River. This trail system can be used to come out at the water tower service road (See Water Tower Cache, GC7W0AX). If you go slightly further before turning back in, you will come out behind the pond beside the road on the around-the-lake trail (See Blueberry Pass, GC7W0CF). If you continue on again, you will come to the junction that takes you to either Square Lake or Livingston Springs (See 5 Corners Junction, GC8APFG).
I encourage bug spray in this end of the park. The mosquitos are tough, and hold grudges up here, but enough deet and the scales will tip in your favor.
Remember your bear aware and bear safety, and be sure to follow hiking safety.
