This is the site of the old ararat quarry used by contractors of days gone by
2 of the original contractors still operate in town KHS & SH Civil. they started as 2 brothers working for their father then worked together before going their seperate ways with 2 different visions of direction.
having worked for SH Civil i remember Stanley the Managing Director (boss) at the time tellin me some history. the trucks were once loaded by hand with shovels & when his dad bought the first front end loader in the district (Fordson E27N with a cable winch boom & a bucket capacity not much bigger than 2 full wheelbarrows) it put 2 men out of work.
you will be looking for a Berocca tube.
it should be an easy find as i am more interested in showing you some history & a nice view
