A bonus 'fun' cache placed whilst setting up the nearby "Gould's Lagoon" multi.

This cache was placed whilst exploring the eastern side of Goulds Lagoon. Being a wetland area, we decided to place the cache well above any water. In fact, we stuck it up in a tree! It's not a hard climb or particularly high but should be a bit of fun for those able.
Gould's Lagoon was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938 at the request of the then owner Arthur Gould. It is a shallow brackish lake and a particularly important refuge for waterfowl and other marsh birds which use the area for resting, feeding and breeding. There is a gentle walk around the lagoon edge and a viewing platform that can be accessed by a boardwalk across the water with interpretive signage to give an insight into the bird life at the lagoon.
A diverse amount of bird species are attracted to the lagoon, including Black Swans, Pelicans, Black Ducks, Chestnut Teals, Purple Swamphens, Egrets, White-faced Herons and Cormorants. Vagrant species, such as Australasian Shovellers, Pink-eared Ducks and Freckled Ducks visit occasionally.
