A short drive from Nahmint Lake along Riverside Main. There is a sort of trail up from the road, but there are a few logs to climb over. Park well off the road to allow for other traffic. Remember that this is a logging road, and expect heavy equipment and loaded log trucks Monday-Friday.
After about 30 or so metres, you will pass the first giant “legacy” tree. It is a pretty good sized western red cedar. Ascend the hill past this tree and aim for the giant Douglas-fir. This is the true giant of the stand. This big boy is over 3m in diameter, one of the biggest Douglas-fir remaining in Canada (top 10 for sure). These trees have been protected and designated as “Legacy” trees by BCTS.
The cache is located about 25m downhill from the giant Douglas-fir, 10m downhill from a large Cedar snag, near the mouth of a small “cave” under a large rock outcrop. There is yellow tape nearby.
