Geocache Description:

The Last Chairlift?

The Basso and Clark Expedition was led by Colonel Gustavo Basso V, and his friend Major Bill Clark. The trip was commissioned by none other than George Washington. The two were commissioned to map out the western parts of the U.S., and suggest a possible stagecoach route.

The area around GZ was a well-known skiing hangout (This was before global warming.) Naturally, the chairlifts were quite primitive and slower by today's standards.

The last time anyone saw the famous pair, they were headed up a wobbly chairlift. A bystander happened to take a snapshot. The photographer also saw them drop a container.

Whatever happened to the pair, and what was in the mysterious container? Was it some kind of plea for help? Is it still there?
