🇸🇮 Grad Goričane je nekoč stal na pečini nad geolovcem dobro poznanim Dvorcem Goričane. Utrdba je bila ena od mnogih na gričih nad prometno potjo vzdolž desnega brega Sore. Zgrajena naj bi bila že v desetem, verodostojneši pa so viri, ki nastanek gradu postavljajo v dvanajsto stoletje. Lastništvo gradu se je v stoletjih nekajkrat zamenjalo, naposled so ga po izumrtju Celjskih grofov po letu 1456 v boju za njihovo nasledstvo pridobili Habsburžani. Leta 1511 je bil močno poškodovan v geolovcem dobro znanem potresu, ko ga je leta 1613 opustošil požar, pa ga takratna lastnica Ljubljanska nadškofija ni več obnovila. Material z gradu so uporabili za gradnjo baročnega dvorca, zato je od njega ostalo razmeroma malo. Vidni so ostanki zahodnega zidu, izravnave terena in obrambni jarki na grebenu proti zahodu.

🇬🇧 Goričane Castle once occupied a cliff above the baroque Goričane Mansion, well known to geocachers. The fortification was one of many to guard the transport route along the right bank of Sora river. It could have been built as early as in 10th century, but sources, dating it to the 12th century, are more reliable. The ownership of the castle changed several times in the centuries until it was acquired by the Habsburgs in the war of succession after the decline of the Counts of Celje in 1456. In 1511, the earthquake, also well known to geocachers, heavily damaged the castle. After it was destroyed by fire in 1613, the owner, Archdiocese of Ljubljana, decided not to rebuild it. The ruins were used as a source of building material in the construction of the mansion, so the remains of the castle are scarce. Still visible are the remains of the western wall, some levelled ground and defence trenches on the ridge to the west.

🇸🇮 Parkirišče za geovozilo je pri dvorcu. Ne rinite z avtom do konca asfalta! Iščete valjast vsebnik, ki je po prostornini bolj majhen kot mikro. Ne bi smel biti prehud izziv, razen za kakšnega novinca. Če boste gledali gor, ga boste težko našli. In če boste raziskovali naokoli, pazite na pečino. Ob postavitvi je bila v zakladu poleg obvezne vsebine še neaktivirana sledljiva FTF nagrada.
🇬🇧 Find the parking for your geovehicle near the mansion. You are searching for a cylindrical container with a volume that is closer to small than to micro. It shouldn't be too much of a challenge, except maybe for new geocachers. If you are looking up, it will be hard to find. And if you explore the ruins, watch out for the cliff. When the cache was placed, it also contained an unactivated trackable FTF prize.
