Old Baldy
The Old Baldy Dune and Nature Trail is part of Charles Mears State Park.
The beginning of the nature trail hike starts at the North end of the State Park, just across from the bathrooms / shower house and playground. The trail consists primarily of a stepped boardwalk that ascends rapidly up the wooded dune. After a couple of steep ascents, hikers are rewarded with a lookout point, offering an excellent view of the State Park, beach, piers, and Lake Michigan.
The annual Recreation Passport is required for all vehicles entering any State Park. They are available at the park for $16 or when you renew your license plates. For more information, visit Michigan Recreation Passport.
For more information about the park, visit the Sleepy Hollow State Park website.
To reserve your campsite, visit Michigan State Park & Harbor Reservations.
