This is a virtual cache. There is no container. The
only log is here, on this web site. There is a reward at the end
when you successfully complete this hunt.
Note: no "armchair caching", please: we
believe a player must visit a cache site in person in order for it
to count as a find.

1) Start at N36 06.772 & W097 54.126. Find the lighthouse
built as a memorial. You’ll need to remember or write down
the name of the street the memorial stands
beside.
2) Go to N36 06.683 & W097 53.948. You're now standing on
the old Chisolm Trail. Read the marker describing the massacre of a
government freighter and his crew. Remember or write down
the name of the agency that was their destination
when it happened.
3) Nearby is a memorial to the first Oklahoman killed in the
Spanish-American war. Write down or remember the
age of Roy Cashion when he died. And south of that is a
marker commemorating the first rural mail route in Oklahoma. Write
down or remember the year. Add these two numbers
together (Roy's age plus the year the mail route started.)
Now, to get credit for this cache, please e-mail us the
name of the street the lighthouse stands beside (you may
use either of the two different spellings.) You may log your cache
after you have e-mailed us (waiting is no fun), but we will delete
any log that has not sent confirmation data. We will answer each
e-mail, whether you log right away or wait for our okay. We don't
check e-mail every day, so don't worry if you don't hear back from
us immediately.
To complete this cache you may combine the saved words and
numbers as a password, which will enable you to unlock a beautiful
certificate of accomplishment created especially for this cache.
You can print it out in full color, put it in an expensive frame,
and hang it on your wall!
Anyway. Take the five letters of the agency’s name from #2.
Follow that with the four digit total of the year plus Roy's age
from #3. Place these four numbers after the name (all lowercase
letters) – ie: xxxxx####, where ‘x’ is a letter of the agency's
name, and ‘#’ is a number. This is the password which will open the
file containing the certificate of accomplishment located at the
“Images” section below.
You might want to make a trip along the Chisolm Trail, and pick
up some other nearby caches in Enid to the north, and Dover and
Okarche to the south, or travel northwest to Fairview's
history-oriented cache.
Many thanks to C. J. Doyle, whose Saint Marys Three-Step
Virtual Cache inspired us to set up this type of cache to explore
the local history.
