This is our first cache. It was placed there on 9/8 by Randy, Karma, Patrick and Thomas. The Lund Lake area is a wetland/open space remediation by the Cantera developers. Cantera is 1 sq. mile of former gravel pit, now multi-story corporate offices, AMC30 theatres, Life-Time Fitness, etc. We had no idea until we got there how well the prairie restoration around the lake was working, so it was a nice surprise for us!
The cache uses a 30cal ammo can. It's laying flat on the ground among the tall paririe grasses(not easily seen even if you are close to it). It's just a short walk from Lifetime fitness center (other parking sites available too). The initial contents of the cache include the 9/9/02 Chicago Tribune comic section, 9/11 anniversary CD and several other useful items to stock the cache. The restored pairie between the river and Lake Lund is very tall in the area.
