Geocache Description:

The British race is the oldest in the Formula One calendar as the 1950 race at Silverstone was Round One of the first championship season in 1950. The 1950 race was won by Alfa Romeo driver Giuseppe Farina.

The British F1 Race is held at Silverstone which was originally an abandoned Second World War Royal Air Force airbase. However, not all British F1 races have been held here. The race location has moved around over the years having also been held at Brands Hatch, and Aintree, but the race has been here at Silverstone since 1987 and is contracted to host the event until 2024.

The 2019 race was the 70th anniversary of the first Formula 1 race under the current rules.

The pole position went to Valtteri Bottas but the race was won by his team mate Lewis Hamilton.

The fastest lap on the 5.891 km (3.660 mi) circuit was set by Lewis Hamilton with a time of 1:27.369, a new lap record.
