This cache is located atop Horn Mountain only a few away from the highest point in Talladega county at 1,924 feet above sea level. The Forest Service road to get you there is designated (depending upon which map you are looking at) as 600-1, County Road 307, or Mountain Skyway. You can park at the gated road to the lookout tower, and the hike to the top is about .17 miles with an elevation gain of not quite 200 feet.
I suggest you approach from the northern end of the road (at Hwy 77) that runs along the top of Horn Mountain unless you have a vehicle with high clearance. You are looking for a camo-taped pill bottle only big enough for small trade items.
