A small series of caches that amble through the historical 1930s Weller Estate area, the last and farthest development of “Metro Land” housing. Such developments were built to encourage people to move out of London and use the train for commuting, taking advantage of surplus land around the railway. The Weller Estate consisted of 78 acres north and south of Amersham station between Grimsdells Lane and Stanley Hill Avenue. Look out for the four types of Metro land houses, including the often white-washed classic semi detached.
This cache is close to the station and the small pleasant grassy area known as The Green. You will need a pen and tweezers, and please replace exactly as found. There is a footpath through to the station via The Copse, so do watch out for those metro land commuters. Happy hunting.
Congratulations to Sarasdor for a speedy FTF.
