Geocache Description:

This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is a surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

This posted coordinates are on private property with the permission and assistance from the management in setting up this geocache. The plaque required to complete this multi-cache is in the public access area.
The opening times for the general public and Geocachers are 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., seven days a week (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day). This timing may not agree with some of our nocturnal Geocachers, but please respect the time set by management.

No longer a church, and was the site of the Seaview Chapel and school house. The business is now an established winery, with the church repurposed as a feature of its tasting room. The old chapel was built by Methodist settlers to the McLaren Vale area, and opened on 5/12/1865. It served as a place of worship, school and social gathering spot for local farming families for a century. A special commemorative service was held on 5/12/1965 to officially close the Chapel after 100 years of use.

To find the cache, complete the following coordinates by finding the plaque commemorating the opening of the new winery and recording the opening date: dd/mm/yyyy = AA/0B/CDDE.

Cache is located at:
