I think that this may be the last open area for a boat cache in SMP Lake, if I'm wrong I hope someone proves it.
This cache is located in Shawnee Mission Park lake and a watercraft of some type must be used to retrieve and sign the log. If you do not use a watercraft then your log will be deleted. This is not optional, you cannot get to the cache without some type of watercraft. If there is any indication that you accessed the cache without a boat then I will delete your log, no ifs, ands, or buts.
This cache was placed using a kayak but is positioned so that any type of boat can get to it.
You can rent a boat at the SMP Marina or bring your own but you are responsible for getting the necessary permits as required.
According to the JCPRD website the marina is open for the 2019 season daily from May 25th-Aug 11th and then only on weekends: August 17 & 18, 24 & 25, and August 31 - September 2. This cache will be disabled when boating on the lake is no longer allowed for the season and then re-enabled for the following season.
