Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Puppy Power Trail! This trail is dedicated to all the puppies, kitties, bunnies, chickens, ducks, fish, turtles and hamsters I have babysat/housesat throughout the years and presently. Each cache is named for my fluffy, furry, feathery and scaley borrowed companions!

This is a very easy, flat trail to walk or bike, it’s about 1.4 miles one way, and you can park on either side, see way points for locations, but these are not P&G caches. Some caches will require a little “off roading” but the area is maintained and hardly ever overgrown! Best part, no poison oak, whoo hoo!

I’m so glad to have been able to place these caches finally! Most are size small with swag, but there are a few micros. Thanks to siennabanena for accompanying me on this hiding quest! Had to get my butt in gear since adacause swooped my first hiding location, as I’ve had my eye on this trail for about a year!

Feel free to leave stories about the beloved animals in your lives in the logs, I’d love to read them! Find below a short(ish) story about the caches namesake!

Pfeiffer, Boogie, Layla & some Hens

These animal friends come from a blended family and a wonderful one at that. Pfeiffer is a beautiful Golden Retriever, my first actually, and Boogie is a tuxedo kitty! Pheiffer loves to play fetch, take herself on walks (carries the leash for me) and sit on my lap. Boogie comes and goes and enjoys pooping in the indoor potted plants to show her lover for me. Layla, sweet Layla, was the oldest pup I knew, she passed at 22 years of age. Not sure what her breed was, but she was small, long haired, floppy eared and adorable. When the family moved in with Pfieffer and Boogie, Layla ran away. My suspicion was that she was headed to her old home, and when they found her half way between the two, I was more relieved she was alive and well then I was glad to be right. The chickens stayed at the old house in the coolest chicken pen I’ve ever seen!

Happy Caching! -SouthPoleSara
