Geocache Description:

Brown’s Creek Road is a typical Island “RDR” (Red Dirt Road) that ends at a scenic water view — “CCR” (Credence Clearwater Revival) (click) was an iconic American rock band active during the late 1960’s & early 1970’s (1967-1972).

Buoyed by lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter John Fogarty’s unique sound, they played in a Southern rock style (roots rock, swamp rock, blues rock) despite their San Francisco Bay Area origin. They sang with lyrics about bayous, catfish, the Mississippi River, and other popular elements of Southern U.S. iconography, as well as political and socially conscious lyrics about topics including the Vietnam War. They also performed at the historic 1969 Woodstock Festival (click) - the greatest rock festival of all time - with the likes of Hendrix, Joplin, Grateful Dead, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Cocker, BS&T, CSN&Y, The Band, Baez and others.

Here’s two of CCR’s biggest hits to listen to while kickin’ up dust and grabbin’ smileys down BCR.
