To find this geocache, you will take an ~1 mile round-trip hike into the recently opened Bogey Creek Preserve. The posted coordinates will start you in front of a map kiosk just beyond the edge of the parking area. Saunter past the 3 picnic tables in front of you and head off down the trailhead. Make sure "to watch for cypress knees" along the way (tricky little guys) and press on until you reach the sign for the trail branch. Turn right at the sign and follow the Bugtussle Loop until you reach the branch for the "Trail Landing." Follow the trail right up until the point you reach the water's edge. Standing in front of that picnic table, turn to a 0 degree bearing and move 30' ahead to find the prize you seek. Good Luck and Happy Hunting!
The North Florida Land Trust celebrated the grand opening of this 75-acre preserve on May 4, 2019. The NFLT began acquiring this property in 2006 and completed the last acquisition in 2017. Walking trails and a picnic area have been added so North Florida residents and visitors can enjoy this preserve that protects nearly a mile of marsh front on Bogey and Clapboard Creeks.
