This is a small clip lock box, designed to amuse and be found. It is number one in a series of geocaches to be laid on the route we walk and cycle around the village of Wisbech Saint Mary. As a family we enjoy geocaching for the exercise as well as finding interesting new things, be this a new place to visit or an ingenious hide. This cache has been designed and set by big geokid as part of their geocaching badge for scouts. They will be maintaining it as part of the family circuit we have planned, instead of letting it fall by the wayside as soon as the badge has been awarded! This cache is located near to 15th Wisbech Scout hut, known as Barton Crofts Scout Centre. 15th has the complete scouting family from Beavers to Explorers and our caching family currently has Beavers, a Cub and a Scout. ******************************************************************************************************** The following is written by big geokid: I have been a member of 15th Wisbech Scouts for just over a year. Some of my favourite things about scouting include having fun with my scouting friends. I have learnt how to tie knots, how to build a campfire. I’ve camped away and with my patrol pitched the tent I slept in. I have cooked on the campfire (s’mores are delicious) and hiked around the village. Geocaching is great fun and I really enjoy coming up with ideas for hides as well as finding the right spot. I am learning so much about myself and having so much fun!! ******************************************************************************************************** Parking is available a short walk away into the village if you do not trust the wide, grassy verge for a car. There are often small mammals scurrying across here and no footpaths so please be mindful of the countryside and highway codes.
