Update (April 10, 2022): Time is getting short! The groundbreaking (savelacougars.com) is on April 22nd at 10am and I will archive these two caches on that date.
Within the next few years there may be a bridge connecting the two open spaces north and south of the 101 Freeway. This will link the habitats for local wildlife like mountain lions. This cache is approximately where the bridge will be located on the north side of the freeway (final design and location of the bridge TBD). Free parking off Liberty Canyon Road north of the 101 exit. The gz was very difficult to get to, compared to my expectation of the satellite map. It took several trips.
Trip #1 resulted in me realizing the the mustard was wayyy taller than me.
Trip #2 was me using a Stalk Stomper (used in crop circle production) to create a path towards the gz...but I only got 3/4 of the way there.
Trip #3 was me with both a machete and my stalk stomper. Working very hard to forge a path to the gz. I ultimately had to move along the fence to finish the hike. Near the gz I found a trail...but I took my own path back down since it was getting dark.
Required gear for the FTF (and future finders, depending on flora height):
1. Gaiters
2. FULL EYE PROTECTION. Goggles with full coverage recommended; safety glasses with side shields at a minimum.
