While hiking and biking along King Counties longest trail you will see a variety of topography and landscapes. Here is a great example of an old meander of the Snoqualmie river that lies between the hiway and the former rail bed. The pond you see here to the east is home to a variety of wildlife including natures engineers and North Americas largest rodent, the Beaver! In the middle of this pond you can see a couple beaver lodges which the beavers live in. Beavers are largely nocturnal creatures, doing most of their work in the cover of darkness. Occasionally you will see beavers in the day time and often right at dusk. Beaver ponds like this are great places to watch other forms of wildlife as they come to drink or rest in or on the water and along the shore. Here we've seen lots of different type of waterfowl and a lot of garter snakes sunning themselves along the trail. As you look for this cache and others along the trail, please take time to look for and identify the wildlife you see. And if you're lucky enough to spot a beaver let us know!
You're looking for a large sized preform bottle camouflaged with *an experimental mix of organic material. No need to step down the embankment or get muddy. Please cover loosely with appropriate loose leaves.

PS.. 11/15/2020: upon inspection of the experimental camouflage I think its extrememly effective. I almost mistook it for a piece of dead stick. Pls look, but don't pry it off.
