Summer is coming to an end and you know what that means... it's time to get on a boat! This makes the 6th year we've decended on Shawnee Mission Lake for Geocaching, boating and friendship. Luckily many area geocahcers have been kind enough to place boat approachable caches for us to find in addition to the event. We hope to see you there!
I am excited that this also marks my 10th year of Geocaching (hench the "X" in the title)! Ever since that first taste of adventure I've been hooked. Our first find was Double D's Meet in the Middle, we found it with a friend (Jade24) who only ever found 9 caches before health issues ended her caching career early. Little did she know the fire she lit inside of me and addiction this has become. Over 7,000 finds later I have no plans to stop!
Unfortunately I just learned Lorrie (Jade24) passed away in her sleep making this an odd mixture of celebration and sadness. Thanks for the introduction to this world of fun, adventure and of course more friends. You will be missed and remembered.

Event Details
Location: Shawnee Mission Park Marina
Date: Sunday September 1st
Time: 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Our guest photopgrapher, cbows162, will take the picture when everyone is in place.)
Requirements: You must get close to the posted coordinates in the lake, no logging from the shore.
Note: Be on the lookout for some 10 year anniversary games and prizes at the event!
The marina has a covered shelter above the rental office for those who wish to only watch or take pictures. This will also serve as our rain out contingency meeting spot (after all there will still be water everywhere).
