Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail in the Cleveland Metroparks.

This area is known as Scranton Flats, which was an industrial wasteland and toxic area until 2014, when it was revitalized into a beautiful area, blooming with nature and foliage.  Some of the main aspects of the project: restoring 2,800 feet of natural shoreline, creating a major fish habitat, providing the first publicly-built section of the Towpath, restoring 9 acres of upland into meadowland, and positioning the Cuyahoga River fish habitat as a national model for urban shipping lanes.  Be sure to explore this amazing area and check out all of its unique and cool features!
