Cache is NOT at listed coordinates. To solve for the coordinates of the container, you'll need some information on the history of Burke County. You could use your favorite internet search engine, but really it's a lot more fun and informative to walk through the museum here and find the information yourself. This is a really neat museum with a lot of interesting things to learn about our area's history, and most of not all the information you need for this cache was available when I last walked through it, although they change exhibits up sometimes.
The coordinates are:
N 35 44.ABC
W 081 41.DEF
A= Third digit in the year that Broughton Hospital was listed in the National Register of Historic Places, minus 3.
B= Number of years that Fort San Juan predates the British settlement of Roanoke Island by, minus 9.
C= Number of stories that the tower in the main building of the North Carolina School for the Deaf at Morganton has, minus 3 .
D= Last digit in the year that Frankie Silver was hanged for the axe murder of her husband, minus 1.
E= Second digit of the year that Burke County was founded, plus 2.
F= Number of letters in the first and last names of the founder of Burke County, minus 7.
The final container is rather large, and I've got it pretty well stocked with swag and a pen. Please be sure to trade out items to keep it fun and interesting for the next finder(s).
