Geocache Description:

Middle Road, turning into Locust Street spans 20 miles, beginning in northeast Bettendorf and ending in western Davenport. It is a thoroughfare for traffic in Scott County. This is a FTF Power Trail, beginning at the start of Middle Road. A "Power Trail" is a series of at least 50 geocaches within close proximity. A "FTF Power Trail" means that if you are the "first to find" (i.e. the 'FTF') of a cache in this series, PLEASE 'PAY IT FORWARD' BY PLACING THE NEXT CACHE ALONG THIS TRAIL, AND PLEASE DO SO WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF GETTING THE FTF. Keep in mind that some areas will be higher muggle traffic than others, so you may have to be creative in your hides, or may have to dive slightly off course to put out a hide.

Scott County Conservation Board & Iowa DNR are renovating the West Lake Complex to improve water quality and recreational opportunities. Watershed protection from March to November 2019 involves 5 ponds and one bio-swale. Water drawdown starts July 2019. Major construction in late 2019 involves dredging, shoreline stabilization, constructing 4 ponds, and fish habitat

The following information is completely made up and will lead you to the Letterbox Hybrid.

Near the posted coordinates is where you’ll begin to follow the city’s proposed plan to refill West Lake. An 8” cross-linked polyethylene pipe will run from the water supply (posted coordinations) WEST 105’ towards 110th St. from there it angles 90° heading SOUTH along 110th St. for 5121.6’. Another 90° left turn at Gate 1 where it enters West Lake Park. From here the blueprints have the pipe winding 4,699.2’ eventually ending up facing EAST near Lake of the Hills. This final section will stretch (approx.) 158’ to the south corner of the wooden shelter. It is here the water will spill into the main lake. Oh and you’ll also find the cache here!

Please obey all park rules and most importantly have fun. As always watch out for muggles when finding and replacing the letterbox. Final location can be busy at times so just come back when the coast is clear. Thank you
