Set in the 26th Century in the wake of a universal civil war, Firefly centres on the crew of a small transport spaceship that doesn't have a planet to call home. Thrust together by neccessity, the disparate crew seek to survive and find their way, facing numerous challenges on the blurred edges of civilisation. Taking whatever work they can find to keep in the air, sometimes legal, sometimes not, life is a constant battle to avoid contact with the Alliance (for various reasons) and Reavers (to stay alive) all the while confronting their inner demons, and each other, in the confines of their ship.
This show was sadly canned after just 1 season, but to this day remains one of my personal favourites If you've never seen it, I'd heartily recommend it for the tremendous storylines and character development.
