YOU MUST KEEP YOUR DOGS ON LEADS IN THESE FIELDS DUE TO SHEEP AND LAMBS
From the last cache follow the footpath through the field - keeping the hedge on your right-hand side.
On a routine walk around we found that a huge city of solar panels had been placed in the field next to the cache so we thought it was time to change the cache container over to one more appropriate to the setting. It is NOT to be found in the derelict house.
INFO RELATING TO THE SOLAR PANELS - Aberystwyth University is set to become one of the greenest campuses in Wales announcing the creation of its own solar farm, which will power up to a quarter of its electricity needs. The £2.9m solar array, will be located on 4 hectares of university-owned land adjacent to its Fferm Penglais student accommodation. Once operational, the photovoltaic solar panels will generate approximately 25% of the annual electricity requirements of Penglais Campus– equivalent to the energy used by over 500 homes. In doing so, it will generate carbon savings of 550 tonnes per year. It is expected to cut annual energy bills by over £320,000 and reduce energy-related carbon emissions by 8% per year. Over the lifetime of the panels, the University is expected to save almost £18m in electricity costs. Aberystwyth will be one of only a handful of universities in the UK to develop its own full scale solar array. The project is part of wider plans to become carbon neutral by 2030.
Please ensure that the film canister fits snugly in the hide when you have finished. After finding the cache you can admire the views over Aber to your left, but our walk now follows the track to your RIGHT.
