This geocache is on private business property. However, we have been given permission to place it here. There are a few parking spots available - look for a large tree on the right side of building and head that way. Beware there are muggles as this is a place of business. When searching for the geocache, be sure to check out Wabash County's Moon Stone and learn about it's history below:
Many people flock to other parts of the world to visit mystical places such as Stonehenge, oracle at Delphi, the pyramids etc. Yet, here in Wabash County is a natural mystical place that has existed for ten thousand years. Hidden behind a clump of trees is the MOON ROCK. Carried from Canada ten thousand years ago by the glaciers and deposited here. Prehistoric tribes worshipped it. Miami Indians traveling in the area on the trail between present day Fort Wayne and Lafayette visited it and left offerings.
Native Americans called it a "Stone from Heaven" and left offerings at the15 foot by 18 foot by 10 foot pudding stone (glacial erratic) brought down by the last glacier from Canada. It sat off the Indian path that connected Fort Wayne to Lafayette. Because of its mysterious properties it was considered a ceremonial center. Those Indians passing by would stop and leave offerings of tobacco and such and a prayer or two. Those who failed to do so tempted the fates on their journey. Even today people sense an energy field associated with the stone. It is said that the hoofprint of a cow was once plainly visible on the stone.
