Denne cacheserie er en hyldest til Walt Disney, manden som har beriget vores barndom med så mange fantastiske tegnefilm.
Walt Disney blev født den 05. december 1901 i Chicago. Som 4-årig flytter han og familien til Kansas, hvor han vokser op på landet. Hele livet er han interesseret i at tegne, og denne interesse ender med at blive hans levevej.
Et berømt citat fra Disney er: "If you can dream it, You can do it."
I 1923 flytter han til Californien og opretter et filmstudie sammen med sin bror Roy. Hans livslange ven og tegner, Ub Iwerks kommer til i 1924 . Sammen skaber de Mickey Mouse i 1928.
Gennem 1930'erne skabes en række korte tegnefilm og her kommer også Fedtmule, Anders And og Pluto til verden. Fra 1934 begynder Disney koncernen at producere film i spillefilmslængde. Det resulterer i den første tegnefilm i fuld spillefilmslængde, nemlig Snehvide og de 7 dværge. Nu fulgte 'de gyldne år' med bl.a. Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo.
I 1950'erne produceredes Askepot, Peter Pan og Alice i Eventyrland. Samtidig begynder Walt Disney at tænke i andre baner. Han ønsker sig en eventyrpark, og besøger blandt andet Tivoli i København for inspiration. Missionen lykkes og i juli 1955 åbner det første Disneyland i Anaheim, Californien. Det efterfølges senere af Disneyland, Florida, Epcot Center, og Disneyland Paris.
Walt Disney har i øvrigt rekorden i flest vundne Oscars (22) ud af 59 nomineringer.
Walt Disney dør den 15. december 1966, af lungekræft. Han blev 65 år gammel, og efterlader en gigantisk produktion af tegnefilm og dertil hørende merchandise, ligesom studier føres videre og til dato udgives der mange vidunderlige tegnefilm. I 2009 åbner the Walt Disney Family Museum i San Francisco, designet af hans datter, Diane.

All of his life, he was interested in drawing, and this interest neds up becoming his way of living. A famous qoute from Disney is: "If you can dream it, you can do it."
In 1923 he moves to California and starts a filmstudio with his brother Roy. His lifelong friend and drawer, Ub Iwerks arrives in 1924. Together they create Mickey Mouse in 1928.
Through the 1930's a number of short cartoons a made and Goofy, Donald Duck and Pluto are 'born' into this world. From 1934 Disney begins to produce animated movies i feature length. The result is the first animated movie in full feature length, Snowwhite and the 7 dwarfs. Now the 'golden age' begins, with among others Pinocchio, Fantasia and Dumbo.
In the 1950's Cindarella, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland are produced. At he same time Walt Disney begins to think in other directions. He wants an adventure/theme park and he visits a.o. Tivoli i Copenhagen seeking inspiration. The mission is succesfull and in July 1955 the first Disneyland opens in Anaheim, California. It is later followed by Disneyland Florida, Epcot Center and Disneyland Paris.
By the way, Walt Disney hold the record for most Academy Awards (22) out of 59 nominations.
Walt Disney dies December 15th 1966 from lungcancer. He gets to be 65 years old and leaves a gigantic legacy of animated movies, parks and merchandise, as well as ongoing studios. To this date a large number of wonderful animated movies are released. In 2009 The Walt Disney Family Museum opens in San Francisco, designed by his daughter, Diane.
